Comparison
AssuredCPD vs CPD Standards Board (now CPD Review Board): an honest comparison
Published 29 August 2026 · 6 min read
Of the well-known UK CPD accreditation bodies, the CPD Standards Board (which is currently rebranding to CPD Review Board) is unusual in one important respect: they publish their prices. That already sets them apart from most of the market, and it means this comparison is a different exercise from our others — less about transparency, more about how the two of us actually stack up on cost, speed, and how the pricing behaves as you grow.
The short version: for a single course, CPD Standards Board is cheaper — £200 for registration and one course, versus AssuredCPD's £350. That relationship flips as you add courses: their flat £200 per course doesn't offer volume discount, while AssuredCPD's annual memberships scale down to around £67 per course. On speed, we could not find a stated turnaround on their site; AssuredCPD commits to five working days, guaranteed.
A note on the rebrand
The organisation historically known as the CPD Standards Board now operates from cpdreviewboard.com under the name CPD Review Board. Both names still appear on their current website during the transition. Every figure below was verified on cpdreviewboard.com in August 2026, and the underlying pricing is the same as the CPD Standards Board pricing we've seen quoted previously.
What we checked, and when
We reviewed cpdreviewboard.com directly on 29 August 2026: the pricing page, the accreditation process page, and the about page. Prices and terms below are quoted from their own pages. Where a piece of information isn't published on their site — notably a stated turnaround time from submission to decision — we've said so rather than assuming.

Where each of us has the honest advantage
They're cheaper for one or two courses
This is the most straightforward finding, and worth stating plainly: if you have a single course you want accredited and don't expect to add more, CPD Review Board's £200-including-registration will cost you £150 less than our £350 first year. For a small provider with one signature offering, that is a genuine advantage. Their renewal fee for a minor-changes annual review, at £100, is also lower than our £245. They earn that with the flat-fee model.
We're substantially cheaper as you scale
Their pricing page states this clearly: "We do not offer bulk discounts or portfolio pricing." That means five courses with them costs £1,000; ours costs £975. Ten courses with them costs £2,000; ours costs £1,380. Fifty courses with them costs £10,000; ours costs £3,330. If you're building out a portfolio, the crossover happens around five courses, and above that the gap widens quickly.
We publish a turnaround; they don't
Their process page explains what happens once you have your assessment report — you can revise and resubmit up to twice within 30 days at no additional cost, which is a fair policy — but the time from submission to that first report isn't published anywhere we could find on their site. Ours is five working days from a complete submission, with a money-back guarantee if we miss it. If certainty on timing matters to your launch plan, that's a meaningful difference.
Both of us publish prices — and that itself matters
Most UK CPD accreditation bodies quote pricing on request only. CPD Review Board and AssuredCPD both put their fees on the website, in full. Whichever of the two of us you choose, you're choosing a body that competes on merit rather than hiding numbers behind a discovery call — and that's a category of body we'd rather see more of in this market, not less.
Which of us is the right choice
Honest reading of the numbers above:
- One or two courses, no scale plans: CPD Review Board is cheaper first year and cheaper on minor-changes renewal. Fair pick.
- Three to four courses, or expecting to grow: The pricing is close and the tiebreaker is other factors — speed, framework fit, whether an accreditor also sells competing courses (see our independence article for the four questions worth asking).
- Five or more courses, or a growing portfolio: AssuredCPD is materially cheaper as you scale, and the price gap widens the more you add.
- Deadline-driven launch: AssuredCPD's five-working-day guarantee removes a real unknown from your plan.
Why we're publishing this at all
The point of these comparison pages isn't to argue we win on every axis — we don't, and CPD Review Board is a genuinely fair-priced accreditor for the single-course case. The point is to give you the actual numbers, from live sources, so you can decide with your eyes open. That's the standard we'd want if the roles were reversed.
